Leithen Rovers 5
Hawick Waverley 1
BORDER CUP SEMI-FINAL
Aided by a five-goal blast, Leithen Rovers sailed into the final of the Border Cup.
Darren Thomson got Rovers off to a dream start, rifling away a shot from the edge of the box in the first minute.
Former Waverley player Callum Hope then slotted in a second for the homesters.
Waverley hit back to reduce the leeway when Ian Turnbull nodded in a Dean McColm corner before the break.
In the second half, Hawick keeper Steven Walker kept Rovers out with a brilliant save from a Simon Philbin penalty.
Leithen soon stretched their lead through an Alan McMath goal. Rovers were now in the driving seat and after McMath had put Waverley into further arrears, Ross Forrest notched a fifth.
