Hawick United 2
Tweedmouth Amateurs 1
BAL DIVISION B
UNITED netted the only goal of a first half, that brought about few scoring opportunities, when Kevin Paterson slotted away a shot from close range.
After United keeper John Paul Drysdale had denied Tweedmouth an equaliser, pulling off an excellent save, the Hawick men stretched their lead 10 minutes into the second half – Thomas Scott doing the business when he intercepted a pass and raced in to shoot home.
United began to push for further strikes and Paterson squandered two good chances.
Tweedmouth then put themselves back in the picture with a well-worked goal.
From here on the visitors piled on the pressure in a bid to get on level terms but the Teries’ defence stood firm.
