IT will be powdered eggs and tins of condensed milk at Ednam Primary School today as pupils get a taste of food during wartime.
It’s part of The Co-operative’s From Farm to Fork project and youngsters will learn about rationing and enjoy a hands-on lesson in how to make a wartime meal.
The pupils will learn about wartime campaigns such as the Dig for Victory initiative, the Ministry of Food and the Women’s Land Army.
Sally Fleming, from Whitsome Hill Farm at Duns, will take the countryside into the classroom.
