ABBOTSFORD
The final stages of the Handicap Singles and the first rounds of the Pairs Tournament due to played last week were severely disrupted due to illness and unavailability, and have been rescheduled for this week.
The Friday night friendly match saw Tom Thorburn bring a team to the club. This is always a close game, and the rink matches ended with a win for each side. In the pairs afterwards, Ian Macdonald and Colin McLeod defeated Jimmy Grieve and Peter Noble.
The quiz night on Saturday was a great success, with 11 teams turning up.
There was only one point between the first three teams, with Two Pail Merks and a Souter winning with 45 points, and Its New and Its Purple pipping Two Pail Merks and a Geordie to second place on a play-off question.
The club wishes to thank Graham Laing and Simon Maughan for another excellent job running the quiz, and to Vic Graham for providing the Stovies.
