DALE McCall missed a great chance to give Peebles Rovers all three points against his former side. The substitute striker missed from six yards out with six minutes remaining to deny Stuart Robertson’s men what would have been a brilliant win.
However, Robertson was still delighted with Rovers’ performance against leaders Preston.
He said: “It was a very good result in one of the hardest games of the season.
“We had suspensions and injuries, but in the end we could have taken three points rather than one.”
Robertson bemoaned an offside decision which denied Craig Edgar a goal midway through the first half.
Frazer Henderson was a threat all game for Athletic against his ex-team-mates, but an injury meant he was substituted.
Robertson added: “We have had no luck this season and I do think we will get ourselves up the table before the end of the season.”
