SELKIRK Youth Club and Gala Wanderers are on track to meet in the RBS National Under-18 Cup final at Murrayfield, after being kept apart in the semi-final draw.
Both clubs triumphed in last weekend’s quarter-finals, with Selkirk now hosting Boroughmuir and Gala travelling to defending champions Stirling County. The ties are due to be played before April 22.
The Souters knocked out Biggar 25-10 at Victoria Park on Saturday, thanks to two tries each for Kieran Monks and Josh Welsh.
And Gala emerged from a long journey to Inverness with a 23-17 win against Highland. Tries by James Parker and Josh Irvine were converted by Gregor Mein, who added three vital penalties.
Meanwhile, Peebles Colts are in the semi-finals of the RBS National U18 Bowl after defeating Melrose 8-0. They play Greenock Wanderers in the last four.
