PICTURED above is Kelso Laddies’ Association secretary and treasurer Ritchie Allan, left, presenting a cheque for £400 to David Rennie for the motor neurone disease charity.
The association raised the money through a cycle race at the start of Kelso Civic Week this year.
David accepted the cheque on behalf of the charity after his father Andrew died of the condition over five years following a very brave battle.
Andrew, who farmed at Berryhill on the outskirts of the town, was a popular rugby player in his day and a stalwart of the Kelso 1st XV for many years. He was also a regular attendee of the Ex-Laddies dinner held annually and a respected member of the community.
Also pictured, right, is Ex-Laddie and race organiser Colin Dumma.
