Borders Fjordhus II 2

Watsonians III 1

EAST LADIES FIRST DIVISION

WATSONIANS travelled down to Tweedbank to play a fixture previously cancelled due to snow.

Playing with a strong squad, the Borderers had all the early pressure, but were unable to get the ball past the strong visiting keeper. Laura Holmes was finally rewarded when she got the ball through from a rebound. Borders continued to have most of the ball, but lacked determination and Watsonians scored just before half-time from a quick break to level the score.

Following a motivational team-talk from coach Debra Martin, the home side shot out of the blocks after the break.

Some good passing down the right allowed the ball to be crossed in and finished off by striker Ashley Robson to put the Borders back in the lead.

From this winning position, however, Fjordhus seemed to stop pressuring and just managed to hold onto the lead. Joint players of the match were Sara Robson and Fiona Hamilton.

Fjordhus II squad: K. Francis, L. Holmes, Z. Higgins, J. Tyerman, N. Laing, A. Robson, S. Robson, A. Knox, L. McColm, F. Hamilton, E. Cavers, K. Sharky, C. Beattie, K. Ward.
