Gala rugby coach George Graham has extended his contract with the Netherdale club for a further two seasons.
Graham, is in his second spell with the Maroons, having been a player/coach during his time with the Borders professional club. And, although he has enjoyed considerable success with Gala, the ambitious team boss is hungry for more.
“I think there is still stuff I’d like to achieve with this club and this group of players,” he said.
“I want to do the clean sweep and win everything. It was close this season. We’re in the B&I Cup again, we finished second in the championship, and we should be in the Border League final.
“As a coach, though, you measure yourself on what you’ve achieved in the league. We lost three games out of 18, which is not bad. Ayr lost two out of 18.”
Graham, who is also keen to keep local players on board, will again be assisted by Scott Nichol.
