Kelso High School hockey players rounded off a tremendous week by taking their third trophy in the South Schools Under-18 Knockout Cup.

Kelso and Jedburgh contested the semi-final in the top half of the draw, the former proving too strong and winning 3-0.

In the bottom half of the draw, Selkirk HS beat Galashiels Academy and BHS to set up yet another final against the Tweedsiders.

Kelso took the lead when Jennie Robson slotted the ball in on the right post.

This was followed up by a great strike from Gina Ramsay from the back of the D to take Kelso into a 2-0 lead at the break.

Selkirk narrowed the gap and put the pressure on their opponents once again.

But Kelso continued to press – Jennie Robson finding the back of the net, only to discover that the whistle had gone for a penalty corner, which they were unable to convert.

The Tweedsiders held on to retain the cup.
