KELSO youngster Josh Abbott was celebrating in the snow on Saturday after lifting the East Lothian Cross-country Championship at Meadowmill Stadium.
Josh, 11, is a member of the Gala Harriers club and also trains with Keith Lyall from Kelso, and racing on a very snowy course last weekend he managed to complete the 1.43 miles in seven minutes and 25 seconds to take first place.
The previous day he ran in the Under-14s National Open Championships at the new Emirates Stadium in Glasgow, where he gained two PBs and won his 200m heat.
Josh has been very busy over the last few weeks with being part of the Under-11s Team Borders who won the East of Scotland XC League, as well as racing his way into pole position going into the last round of the Borders XC League.
He is hoping to keep up the good form going into the last leg at Galashiels next month.
