Hawick Waverley 1
Tweeddale Rovers 1
BAL DIVISION A
Although there may have been few goals, there was no shortage of fast-flowing football drama and excitement in this highly entertaining encounter.
Both sides excelled and a sharing of the points was a fitting result. Despite close calls at the respective ends, a no-score draw appeared to be on the cards until Tweeddale broke the deadlock with just four minutes remaining.
Waverley keeper Euan Reilly, who had been in top form in thwarting Rovers with a string of excellent saves, failed to hold a shot and the loose ball was tucked away by 40-year-old Gareth Smith.
Never-say-die Waverley came bouncing back and three minutes later snatched a dramatic equaliser through a Ross Wallace header.
