THE Langholm Royal British Legion clubrooms were extremely busy on New Year’s Day for the annual pairs bowling tournament which attracted entries from both sides of the border.
Richard Fox and Graham Denby from Stappleton emerged the winners, beating Ali Park of Gretna, who was playing with Brian Murray from Corrie in the final.
Alan Hall of Canonbie, playing with Alan Nixon from Gretna, got knocked out in the semi-finals and also out at that stage was local pair Ronnie and Kieran Johnstone.
Legion representative Sue Roebuck presented the Matt and Dorothy Potts challenge cup to the winners.
The tournament was organised by Paul Warwick and Neil Campbell and Eleanor McMurdo provided food throughout the day.
