SEMI-JUNIOR LEAGUE
IN AN exciting encounter in the Milntown mud a penalty goal by Peebles Colts scrumhalf Jack Harman grabbed victory with four minutes remaining.
The visitors had the better of the first half hour and ran in unconverted tries through prop Cameron Pye and flyhalf David Campbell.
A quick tap and run from a penalty by Langholm flyhalf Gregor Masterton sent prop Martin Salaman crashing over to score and the former converted to make it 7-10 at half time.
Langholm went ahead when Salaman charged over for his second try, but Masterton missed the conversion and it was 12-10.
Langholm looked like holding out for a first win of the season in the Border semi-junior league but the late visitor’s penalty spoiled the home party.
