ST BOSWELLS
PRESIDENT Colin Ovens welcomed a large turnout to last week’s AGM.
Reports were given from captains Sammie Barrie and Kenny Baillie, and Mr Ovens thanked all the members, visitors and sponsors who have helped the club in 2012.
The treasurer reported that this had been a challenging year for Borders golf clubs, but that St Boswells remains in a strong financial position. The club has surplus funds in the bank, owns the land and clubhouse outright with no bank borrowings, meaning that it is well placed to offer value for money golf and facilities to its members.
The following items were proposed and approved: Memberships for 2013 (Jan to Dec) is set at £240 for adults and £220 for seniors. An option to pay over 12 months was also approved (£20/£18.33 per month).
The gents’ captain is George Hogg; while the vice-captain’s position remains vacant. The ladies’ captain is Catherine Renton and the vice-captain is Wendy Davidson.
2012 green fees is £20 for 18 holes, or £15 for 9 holes while guests’ fees for playing with members is increased to £10.
Members can obtain full detailed minutes and copies of the club’s accounts from secretary Sue Brooks. Anybody who wishes to join the club should call Sue on 01835 823527 or e-mail secretary@stboswellsgolfclub.co.uk
