SIXTEEN teams competed the 2012 Ladies’ Challenge held at the Kelso rink last week.
Along with the Borders sides, Aberdeen, Perth and Glasgow were represented, as well as the silver medallists from the World Senior event earlier in the year.
With the help of sponsors – Cobblers, Bairnkine Cottages, Daisy-Boo Accessories and Margaret Cadzow two great days of competition and socialising took place.
Two home teams contested the final with the team skipped by Margaret Robertson with Venetia Scott, Wendy Henderson and Elspeth Bell winning a close game from Joan Dixon, Anne McAuley, Isabel Nisbet and Joan Forrest.
The Low Road winners were first-time competitors from Perth, skipped by Ann Marie Davidson with Lynn Paul, Margaret Cairns and Ann Hewitt.
Ladies’ president Wendy Henderson thanked her committee and ice rink staff for helping to stage the event, and invited Margaret Cadzow to present the prizes to all finalists.
