THE BORDERS only representatives left in the Scottish Cup have been drawn together.
Selkirk will host Vale of Leithen at Yarrow Park on Saturday, September 29 in the second round of the national competition.
The Souters defeated Glasgow University 2-0 on Saturday to get into the draw, which was conducted this afternoon by former Rangers and England player Trevor Steven, while Vale beat Threave Rovers 1-0.
Both sides faced each other three times last season, with Vale coming out on top in each match, scoring ten goals without reply.
Fraser Oglivie’s men will be favourites again, following Selkirk’s relegation to the East of Scotland First Division, but Mike McKinnon has strengthened his team over the summer and will be confident of pulling off a shock.
Elsewhere, Rangers travel to Highland League side Forres Mechanics, while Stirling University at home to Bonnyrigg Rose is another tie of the round.
