A TRIO of young Borders players have made their mark on the international circuit.
Gary Robertson, Craig Cowan and Ruairi Howarth represented the newly-established Scotland Under-16s at the Wellington College International Festival, Berkshire.
Full-back Ruairi and tight head prop Gary, both started against England South on Sunday, while Gary came off the bench to play against France on Wednesday.
Hooker Craig started against France.
All three boys played exceptionally well and were a credit to their clubs Gala Red Triangle (Ruairi and Gary) and Jed-Forest (Craig).
The lads were involved in national duties on Sunday in the Under-16s Youth Cup semi-finals. Unfortunately, both teams made their exit at this stage. Red Triangle put up a brave fight against Stirling County Colts at Netherdale, only to be beaten 34-26, while Jed lost to Glasgow Hawks by 45-7.
