EARLSTON
Members of Earlston Golf Club graced the fairways of Goswick to battle it out for the Wallace Cup and Centenary Cup.
Thanks to sponsors Rutherfords of Earlston, the weather and the hospitality of Goswick Golf Club, the day was a resounding success.
The winner was Richard Aitchison. who lifted both cups with 37 stableford points and a nett 68.
In second place was Mike Scott. sandwiched by Richard’s brother Ivor Aitchison.
Nearest the pin was Rose Thorburn who couldn’t stay for the presentation or photographs. She had to drive husband Brian back to his work in the Black Bull, Earlston.
Despite this she didn’t get the longest drive, this was scooped up by Ron Darling with a phenomenal 310-yarder at the 8th.
