GALA CYCLING CLUB’S new season got under way with a five-mile time trial last night.
With members having undertaken training nights and Sunday runs since last season, some quick times were made.
Already, some members have been racing and showing good early-season form.
David Johnston especially deserves a mention for his 23 minute, 16 second time for 10 miles’ racing in Fife.
There are some this week who will be taking part in their first time trial on the road, having joined the club over the winter period and the Gala club wishes them all the best of luck.
The next race will be the annual Gordon Arms Mountain TT on Sunday, April 1, starting at 10am.
This is a real challenge, taking in some breathtaking climbs on the way round, but it always proves to be a popular event, in the past attracting world champions to take on the race.
Entries are still open – contact details found on galacc.co.uk.
The next time trial is a 10-miler on Wednesday, April 4.
Details of the club can be found at galacc.co.uk or follow them on Facebook.
