A peregrine falcon has escaped from an enclosure in Bonchester Bridge near Hawick over a week ago, and its owners and local police have appealled for any witnesses who can help secure the bird of prey’s return.
The four-year-old female, crow-sized falcon, marked with a ring on one leg and characterised by a blue-grey back, barred white underparts, and a black head and ‘moustache’, disappeared around 3.15pm on March 14.
Anyone with information in connection with the missing bird of prey are asked to contact their local police.
