Now in its eighth year, the acclaimed official MotoGP Season Review 2011 is a must-read for all followers of the world’s most exciting and extreme motorsport.

This high-quality hardback describes how the fifth and final year of the 800cc formula in MotoGP saw Casey Stoner crowned as champion for the second time and secure his reputation as not just the best rider of recent years but one of the best the sport has seen. Only four other men have won the top title on two different makes of motorcycle and all of them are true greats: Geoff Duke, Giacomo Agostini, Eddie Lawson and Valentino Rossi.

Stoner’s domination of the season and Jorge Lorenzo’s dogged defence of his title are chronicled in the official MotoGP Season Review 2011. There is also the saga of how Valentino Rossi and Ducati, Italy’s dream team, suffered through their first season together. The nuts and bolts of that drama are analysed in the book’s main technical feature.

The 2011 season also saw the tragic loss of one of its rising stars, Marco Simoncelli, in the Malaysian Grand Prix - a stark reminder that motorsport is, and always will be, dangerous. The book contains a moving tribute to ‘Super Sic’ by BBC TV presenter Matthew Roberts.

The second season of Moto2 saw improved lap times but maintained the close racing of its first year. The title was decided at the last round between the ever-more-astonishing Marc Marquez and early-season pace-setter Stefan Bradl. The final season of 125s, the last of the two-strokes, also went down to the wire before Nico Terol was crowned.

All this and more is recorded in the official MotoGP Season Review 2011 by some of the best writers in the sport. British Eurosport’s MotoGP commentator Julian Ryder provides the race reports with back-up from Neil Spalding and Mat Oxley, while the camera of Andrew Northcott supplies the stunning imagery.

The glossy hardback retails at £30, but The Southern Reporter has two copies to give away free, courtesy of Haynes Publishing. All you have to do to be in with a chance of winning a copy is answer the following question:
