LANGHOLM Sports Centre manager Calum Graham is to take part in the first official run to be staged at the new Olympic stadium in London on March 31.
He has already been selected as a torch-bearer and a BT story-teller for the Games.
The run has been organised by the National Lottery in recognition of its support for the Olympics and British sport. The five-mile event will include stars from the world of sport and entertainment.
Calum is to use the run to raise funds to help disabled athletes from Annandale and Eskdale compete in the Special Olympics in Bath in 2013.
He is asking for the public to give generously and for every £2.50 donated, the person’s name will go into a prize draw which includes shirts signed by various football stars and signed photographs of such people as Daley Thompson, Steve Redgrave and Mo Farah.
Donations must be made by Friday, March 30. Visit www.mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/olympicparkrun
