HAWICK’S Teviotdale Turbos swimming club were in action again on Sunday, competing in the Hawick Graded Challenge meet.
The Turbos had 13 swimmers in action. First up was Emma Suddon competing in her more familiar butterfly race and coming away with a silver medal. Lindsay Jack and Emily Angus also swam butterfly, with the latter winning a bronze.
The next stroke was backstroke, with Aylish Paisley, Rachel Sharp, Iain Rolland, Amy Hill and Kate Arnott competing. Aylish lifted the gold medal and Kate took a well-deserved bronze.
The individual medley was swum over 100m and the Turbos excelled, taking a total of nine medals through Rachel and Jenny Sharp (gold), Lindsay Jack, Aylish Paisley (silver), Emma Suddon, Iain Rolland, Charlie Jack, Ellie Paisley (bronze). Mairead Cottrell swam too fast, being outside her time band, and was given a speeding ticket medal.
Amy Hill and Kate Arnott also clocked some great times. This event shows great stamina and strength which is all down to some good, hard training.
Next up was the breaststroke where Iain Rolland earned himself a bronze medal. Ellie Paisley picked up a speeding ticket medal for being too fast and Sophie Hill, in her first outing of the day, did really well.
In the front crawl, Aylish Paisley scooped her second gold of the event, Emma Suddon took silver and Charle Jack, Emily Angus and Kate Arnott all got speeding tickets. Amy Hill also swam, producing a great pb time.
