POLICE hunting a fireraiser say locals in Innerleithen know who is responsible, writes Bob Burgess.
A car on the town’s Tweedside caravan park was torched in the early hours of Friday, February 17 and police launched an immediate plea for information.
The fire is believed to be connected with a number of other incidents in the town.
And on Wednesday officers issued a fresh plea for help into the fire incident.
Inspector Mike Wynne said: “We know that the answers lie within the local community and we need those with knowledge to work with us for the good of everyone in Innerleithen.
“We are following a positive line of enquiry. Although our inquiries are progressing well, I have no doubt that there are still members of the community that have information that could ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.”
Information can be passed to Peebles police on 01721 720637 or with anonymity to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
