BORDER ECOSSE Car Club members were in their best gear for the annual dinner dance and presentation of awards at Kelso Race Course.
A good turnout of over 115 members and guests attended the event and an excellent night was had by all.
Overall club champion for 2011/12 was Des Campbell from Coldstream who scored the most points throughout the year in events ran by the Berwickshire club. Among his many achievements Campbell won the Borders Tarmac Rally Championship, three autocross tests and a navigational road rally.
St Boswells-based Brother Motorsport and Citroen Racing Scotland received the Achievement award. The team from Charlesfield provided essential mechanical back-up at 19 events throughout the season from a full Scottish Championship assault in the forests of Scotland to the treacherous tarmac on the Isle of Mull and all the venues in between.
Other winners were: overall lady champion, Christine Sanderson from Berwick; achievement, Garry Pearson from Duns; newcomer to rallying, Alex Orr from Paxton; commitment to motorsport, Gordon Hay from Eccles; Melvin Cup (chosen by the chairman), Jackie Neil from Leitholm.
Border Ecosse Car Club Ltd will be holding their annual general meeting on Wednesday, March 21, at Royal British Legion, Roxburgh Street, Kelso at 7pm.
All BECC members are welcome to attend.
