Livingston 4

EAST LADIES PREMIER DIVISION

KELSO welcomed back a number of key players for their recent outing at Earlston High School, but despite dominating for much of the game they were denied a much-needed win.

The Tweedsiders had a number of chances in the first half, including young Emma Turnbull hitting the bar with a cheeky flick over the keeper.

Livingston managed to capitalise on two penalty corners to put themselves in front.

Kelso continued to press, but just couldn’t find the back of the net.

They were then caught on the back foot as Livi slotted a well-worked goal. Undaunted, Kelso picked up the tempo yet again and when substitute Sarah Hope was taken clean out by the keeper the umpire awarded the penalty stroke. Tweedsiders captain Emma Pate stepped up to stroke the ball home.

Kelso finished the first half with 10 players on the field as Natasha McLaren saw yellow for supposed dangerous play, and at the break Livingston led 3-1.

Once again, the Borderers started strongly and won a string of penalty corners, which they failed to convert into goals, and Livingston rounded off their afternoon with a fourth goal late on to take all the points.

Kelso squad: T. Cook, L. Denholm, N. McKay, K. Carruthers, J. Lofthouse, E. Pate, N. McLaren, H. Wallwork, E. Turnbull, S. Fleming, S. Hope, K. Logan, K. Stewart, R. Stewart.
