HERIOT WATT UNI2
VALE OF LEITHEN1
EoS Premier Division
A goal in the final minute of normal time saw Vale defeated by the students in a game which was switched to Riccarton after originally being scheduled to be played at Innerleithen, writes Dave Ryce.
There wasn’t much to choose between the sides, both of whom find themselves inhabiting the murky waters of the bottom half of the Premier Division.
The homesters went ahead 20 minutes in as Chris Donnelly provided a fine finish to a good run, yet the lead didn’t last long as Darran Thomson’s free kick was headed in by Scott Moffat.
But it was Watt who stole the points as a Sean Muhsin free kick made its way to substitute David Myatt, who directed a header beyond Vale keeper Mark Wilson to leave the Borderers in ninth place.
