Stuart Robertson has been appointed interim manager of Gala Fairydean, writes John Slorance.
Vastly experienced in the managerial scene, Robertson takes up his duties immediately and will be in charge of Fairydean along with Edinburgh caretaker John O’Hare for the Dean’s home game against Burntisland Shipyard on Saturday.
Robertson is no stranger to the Fairydean set-up as this will be his fourth stint in a manager/coach role with the Netherdale club.
Robertson, whose sudden arrival arose after the recent resignation of Gala manager Garry Fraser, told The Southern: “I got a phone call from out of the blue from Gala chairman Joss Ritchie asking me if I would be interim manager of Fairydean until the end of the season. I was a bit taken aback as I have been out of football since packing in as Peebles Rovers manager.
“However I have decided to give it a go as the season is starting to come to an end with only two months left.”
Robertson, who has managed Gala, Peebles Rovers, Vale of Leithen and Kelso United, said, “I believe that Fairydean have been having problems, but I know nothing about them.
“All I am concerned about is getting to know the players, sorting things out at training and hopefully help Fairydean get some results.”
