MELROSE MINI HORNETS held a very successful tournament last Sunday and, despite experiencing very extreme weather conditions in the form of sun, snow, hail and a bitter wind, everybody seemed to have a very good day.
More than 510 kids came together to play – with teams from Gala Mini Maroons, Duns Bears, Kelso Cougars, Berwick Minis, Langholm Minis, Hawick Minis and Watsonians Mini Warriors – and they competed on five pitches, spread from the north to the south of Melrose.
The winners were: P3 Langholm (pictured right); P4 Melrose; P5 Melrose; P6 Melrose; and P7 Watsonians.
Melrose Minis convenor Sarah Calder would like to thank everybody who helped, played and kept smiling despite the bitter cold, and made the day such a success.
