Peebles Rovers 1
Ormiston 1
EoS FIRST DIVISION
PLAYING on the Netherdale 3G surface, Peebles consolidated their mid-table position on Saturday when they shared the spoils with league stragglers Ormiston.
Having watched his team find some form of late, Peebles coach Jason Girdwood had been hoping for another win.
But having been hammered 4-1 by the East Lothian outfit in his first game in charge, Girdwood was happy to accept the draw.
He told TheSouthern: “Ormiston really shouldn’t be at the bottom of that league and I have to give credit where it is due. They played a good game on Saturday and probably deserved to take a point.
“We had our chances to win the game, but failed to make anything of them.
“Apart from that, though, it was another solid performance and I am relatively pleased with the way things are going.”
Ormiston struck first in Saturday’s game when Jordan Young scored midway through the first half, but Peebles equalised five minutes before the break with a cracking strike from Craig Edgar from just outside the box.
