Selkirk Victoria 4
Hawick United 3
WALLS CUP QUARTER-FINAL
A DRAMATIC late winner at Yarrow Park has set Selkirk Victoria up with a semi-final against Ancrum.
Hawick took the lead on two minutes – Colin Turnbull was gifted a rebound off the crossbar and tapped the ball home.
The Vics weren’t behind for long, however, as William Mercer was brought down in the box and picked himself up to score from the spot.
Hawick went ahead again shortly after when Ross Scott found himself on the edge of the box and calmly slotted the ball past the keeper.
Ten minutes before half-time Vics skipper Grant Brownlee equalised when he stabbed the ball into the net after a mad scramble in the box and, in the last attack of the first half, Kevin Patterson put Hawick ahead for the third time with a long-range strike.
Selkirk came out fighting in the second period and created numerous chances before Alistair Orr rounded the keeper to slot the ball in.
The winner came in the second minute of injury time when the unmarked Ryan Pritchard powered a header underneath the keeper.
