CONTROVERSY reigns in the Borders pool world as the weather allowed only three games to proceed, with claims that several teams cried off their games to accommodate a few players who did not want to travel.
In Division One, Waverley A travelled to Gala and blew away the rather disappointing top dogs Reivers B, capitalising on some unexpected mistakes and tremendous clearances from Dean McColm and Steven Bell. Division Two saw two close games as Niki’s Bar edged out Bridge A in a tight local derby while Waverley B sneaked past local opponents Frankies by the odd frame in another derby.
