Llandovery 34
Melrose 12
BRITISH AND IRISH CUP
LATE tries from Bruce Colvine and Fraser Thomson, one converted by Andrew Skeen, made the score-line in this British and Irish Cup tie slightly more respectable.
But Melrose’s recent downturn in form appears to be continuing.
Llandovery soared to a 27-0 halftime lead with James Garland converting each of their five tries. And, the rout continued after the restart when Aaron Warren finished of a slick backs move, also converted by Garland, to give his side a very comfy 34 point cushion.
If the brisk cold wind at there backs wasn’t enough to spur them into action then that final try must have had an impact because Melrose made a late move to come back into the game and were rewarded by the two late efforts.
