IN THE continuing battle between Hawick’s Burns and Conservative clubs in the Store-age.org.uk Borders Snooker League, both A teams notched wins over their B counterparts last week.
Hawick Conservative Club A continue their reign at the top of the table – but there is still plenty to play for with four games remaining.

Last week also saw the first four qualifiers for the Bannerman Burke Border Singles tournament with C. King, L. McAllister, I. McCombe and G. Kinnear all making it through to the quarter-final stages.
The final four qualifiers take place on Sunday, January 27, and are: R. Stark v J. Callon; D. Amos v C. Robb (at Jed Legion). R. Duff v R. Bell; M. Riddell v J. McDermot (at Selkirk Con Club). W. Redpath v D. Halfpenny; J. Cox v B. Callaghan (at Hawick Con Club); C. Lumsden v D. Rae; D. Williams v F. Kelly (at Hawick Burns Club).
Players should arrive at the venues by noon for a 12.30pm start.
This Sunday sees the Selkirk Conservative Club Border Under-25s singles competition at the sponsor’s venue – noon for 12.30pm start, entries accepted on the day.
