I’M GOING for an across the card double this Saturday.
Anyone who saw Hey Big Spender run last weekend will think I’m mad putting him up for this week’s big race at Warwick, the prestigious Betfair Chase. However it’s the very same race Colin Tizzard’s horse won last
year.
Even though this big brute was tailed off during his Sandown exertions you can find excuses for his efforts so I shall be playing the old loyalty card and keeping the faith. At 16/1 he’s worth another chance around a course that seems to bring out the best in him.
Across the card at Ascot I would like to see the JP McManus horse Dursey Sound turn out again. The Lanzarote hurdle is a hot handicap run over 2m5f and like a lot of the McManus owned novice hurdlers he’s not afraid to throw them in at the deep end. At 10/1 I’m playing again.
Both my bets are e/w singles at the prices but I’m going in with an e/w double too! Confidence is king at this game and it often pays to stay loyal to horses, let’s hope our loyalty is repaid.
