Name: Ruairi Howarth

Age: 16

HomeTown: Stow

Sport: Rugby

Position/Discipline: Flyhalf/fullback

Club/Team(s): Gala Wanderers & Scotland U16 Squad

Coaches: Al Christie, Shane Hawkins & Gus Frater

Your own best moment in sport so far: Playing for Scotland U16 against England and France at the Wellington Festival.

Aims for the next 12 months: Win the Border Semi-Junior League with the Wands and continue to represent Scotland at U17.

Who in sport most inspires you and why: Chris Paterson because he comes from Gala and has achieved a lot in his rugby career.

Fav TV sporting moment of all time: Celtic beating Barcelona 2-1 in the Champions League 2012.

Best thing about your sport: Winning, scoring tries and socialising as a team.

... but dislike: Recovering in pain after a hard game!

Venue at which you most aspire to compete: Aviva Stadium, Dublin. The atmosphere looks and sounds amazing.

If not in this sport, would like to compete in: Football. I played a lot when I was younger and it has a lot of similarities to rugby.

Current most played song or track on your i-pod or MP3: Westlife – You Raise Me Up.

... but turn off/leave the room to: Swedish House Mafia - Greyhound.

Competition superstition or odd routine: Never wear my match shirt in the warm up.

When not competing or training I like to: Relax, Xbox or go out with friends.

My fantasy off-season holiday would be: Road trip across America.
