Borderers up sticks and head to Fife

LEAGUE CUP action took priority on the local pool scene last week.

Reivers B and Station top Group A with tight wins over Bridge B and High Level B respectively.

Group B headed by Reivers A, chased hard by Ship A, both winning comfortably; Group C has Waverley A well clear after a convincing win over Niki’s B and Group D sees High Level A looking good, with Red Lion chasing them hard.

Results – Group A: Reivers B (Gala) 6 Bridge B (Gala) 3; High Level B (Hawick) 4 Station (Hawick) 5. Group B: Dryburgh (Newtown 3 Reivers A (Gala) 6; Ship B (Melrose) 2 Ship A (Melrose) 7. Group C: Waverley A (Hawick) 6 Nikis B (Hawick) 3; Fleece (Selkirk) 6 Frankies (Hawick) 3. Group D: Nikis A (Gala) 0 High Level A (Hawick) 9; Bridge A (Gala) 4 Red Lion (Kelso) 5.

This weekend, the Borders Interleague team face a tough test over three days when they travel to Pettycur Bay in Fife, where they will compete against the cream of Scotland’s pool fraternity.
