THINGS are heating up in the Brewin Dolphin Scottish Schools Under-16 and Under-18 Plate competitions which are heading towards their semi-final stages.
And four Borders teams are still very much in the mix.
In the Under-18 competition Earlston High School are drawn at home against Madras College, comfortable winners over Morrison’s Academy at the weekend, while Linlithgow Academy have been drawn against the winners of the one remaining unplayed quarter-final tie between Carrick Academy and Peebles High School.
Linlithgow Academy are also in the last four of the Plate at Under-16 level and will face the winners of the match between Marr College and, once again, Peebles High School.
Meanwhile, Jedburgh Grammar School are hoping for success against the Lomond and Helensburgh combination to secure a place in the semi-final and a home tie against last season’s beaten finalists, The Gordon Schools Huntly.
Meanwhile, the Bowl is in the latter stages of competition within each region, with Hawick High School awaiting a date to play Dunbar Grammar School in the Borders and East Lothian under-16 final. We will, of course, let you know when it is confirmed.
