SCOTTISH YOUTH CUP THIRD ROUND
HIGH-FLYING Kilmarnock dumped Gala Fairydean out of the Scottish Youth Cup in emphatic style.
The Ayrshire side, who currently sit fifth in the SPL Under-20s League, scored double figures at Netherdale in front of first team boss Kenny Shiels.
Killie, including Robbie Muirhead who scored four goals against AC Milan for Scotland under-16s earlier this year, were 6-0 up at half-time.
And they added a further seven in the second period, with diminutive winger Chris Johnston causing chaos in the Gala backline.
Gala first team manager Garry Fraser, who took charge of the under-20 side on Sunday, said: “It was a good experience for the guys and they kept battling.”
Gala Fairydean: L. Gierus, C. Jeffrey, J. Ngoa, D. Kemp, C. Nicholson, B. Miller, J. Loftus, S. Schulz-Keith, M. Berry, D. Bonnar, J. Hay.
