Tweeddale Rovers 3
Leithen Rovers 2
BAL DIVISION A
TWEEDDALE came out on top of this local derby – but it could have gone either way.
The visitors took the lead against the run of play when from a Tweeddale corner, keeper Watson caught the ball and his long kick found Sherlaw, who dispatched a good shot into the bottom corner of the net. Tweeddale responded well with two quick goals, the first coming from Nick Rogers when he side-footed home after a great move. Then Marcus Thomson put Tweeddale ahead when he headed in a Simon Warren corner.
Just before half-time, Grant Wilson curled a beauty into the top corner to give Tweeddale a 3-1 lead at half time.
Leithen Rovers pulled one back with 20 minutes to go – Sherlaw scoring from a free kick – and went looking for the equaliser, but found Tweeddale defence on top form.
