HEARTLESS thieves have stolen lights from the graveside of three babies at Wairds Cemetery, near Melrose
The bereaved parents of the Selkirk siblings who died in 2010 had placed the six solar-powered lights at their children’s graveside so they would not be left alone in the dark.
A police spokesperson said “This is a sickening incident which has caused significant stress to the babies’ parents and family. We are particularly keen to trace whoever is responsible for this theft and appeal to anyone with any information to contact police”
The thieves struck sometime between Sunday June 3 and last Sunday.
