RUNNERS in the Edinburgh Marathon Festival weekend were thankfully cooled slightly by the mist and sea breezes along the marathon route.
This allowed some Gala Harriers to enjoy excellent times along the 26.2 coastal miles into East Lothian and back.
Well chuffed with his time was Gala front-runner Mark Bryson, who broke through the glass ceiling of three hours to record a fabulous two hours 54 minutes in an exceptionally well-paced personal achievement. Fiona Forrest (sub 3.30) and Dave Nightingale (3.38) also posted great times.
The previous day, Sinclair Hill had competed in the Edinburgh 10km event.
