So much so, Mike McKinnon’s men go into this Saturday’s Premier Division clash against Edinburgh City at the Meadowbank Stadium with a new-found confidence.
Selkirk defender Jason Inglis told TheSouthern: “We were all buzzing after the Gretna game as we had played that well. With a bit of luck we could well have won the game.
“It’s the best we have played for a while and the boys got a big lift. We have not played Edinburgh City yet this season, so I don’t know what to expect, but if we perform the same way we can get a win.”
David Battle and Johny Watt return for Selkirk.
In another top flight encounter Vale of Leithen face Edinburgh University at Victoria Park.
Vale have been struggling to find their form of late and secretary Alec Currie said: “We have gone off the boil recently and it’s difficult to put your finger on why this has happened. It’s more or less the same laddies we had when we had a good run going.
“The players have been putting in plenty of effort, but it has not been happening for us. Luck has not always gone our way though, so we could do with the rub of the green this weekend.”
Vale have Chris Beaton back from suspension.
Peebles Rovers entertain Hawick Royal Albert in a bottom of the First Division clash at Whitestone Park.
Hawick full back Graham Burnett said: “We might be bottom of the league, but we are improving all the time.”
The Albert are without goalkeeper Andy Jack, who is now working in Wales. A trialist will be in goal.

z Gala Fairydean Under-19s captain Andrew Stavert is recovering this week after breaking his leg in three places during his side’s East of Scotland Youth League clash against Spartans on Sunday.
The game was abandoned after only 30 minutes because of the incident.
Stavert has also appeared for the first team on a few occasions this year has been a commanding presence with the 19s throughout the season.
He underwent surgery earlier this week and everyone at the club wishes him a speedy recovery.
