Peebles Rovers 1
Duns 1
EoS FIRST DIVISION
DESPITE being reduced to 10 men in the second half, plucky Peebles managed a late counter to hold Duns to a draw last weekend.
The Dingers opened the scoring in just 30 seconds.
A great through-ball beat the Peebles offside trap and Garry Waddell ran on to slam the ball past keeper John Nisbet.
The home side rarely tested the Duns defence in the opening half, but some good defending prevented the visitors from going in front.
After the break, Peebles performed better, but the match developed into a dour midfield struggle. With 20 minutes left, Ronald Fleming was sent off for a second bookable offence.
However, this just seemed to spur Peebles on and against the run of play they grabbed an equaliser. Duns failed to clear the ball at a corner and Craig Edgar netted, following a scramble in front of goal.
