Langholm 15
Peebles 26
BORDER LEAGUE
PEEBLES secured the meaningless Border League points last Friday evening, but Langholm certainly made the visitors work for the win in this hastily-arranged fixture.
Peebles had much the better of the opening half with tries from Dale Clancy, Ruaridh Clinch and Neil Warnock, two of them converted by Greg Raeburn, making the half-time score 3-19 to the visitors.
Colin Jardine notched up the home team’s points through a penalty.
Langholm scored straight after the restart when Richard Mackay charged down a clearance kick and dived over in the corner. A kick and chase by Peebles from inside their own 22 saw Langholm fail to clear and Connor Blyth secured a try which Raeburn converted.
Langholm replied in kind, Jordan Reid surging over for a try, Jardine adding the extras, but there was no further scoring in what was a clean, sporting game.
