Bursary boost for horse riding instructors

Young horse riding instructors could benefit from a bursary worth £500 thanks to the Anne Balfour-Kinnear Training Legacy.

Ms Balfour-Kinnear was a founder member of BHS Scotland and a staunch supporter of the British Horse Society and the Pony Club. She left a legacy from which an annual bursary is to be paid to further the training of young Scottish instructors committed to helping others.

The fund offerst support and development to instructors aged 25 years and under, who live in Scotland. Candidates are expected to be committed to equestrian training and show involvement with teaching others, gaining qualifications and helping riding or pony clubs. One award is made annually.

Applications are invited for the 2012 award. Eligible instructors can apply by downloading the form from.bhsscotland.org.uk and sending it in to the address provided by April 30.For further information, please contact: Alison Coleman, The British Horse Society, 02476 840463, a.coleman@bhs.org.uk
